Launched at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the R8 V12 TDI Le Mans paired Audi's 6.0-liter V12 TDI of the European market Q7 with the sportscar chassis of the R8 Mk1 as a measure to show a road car that could authentically pay tribute to Audi's Le Mans dominant R10 TDI with its own V12.

1991 Audi V8 quattro Evo DTM
Audi returned to the DTM for 1991 with a slightly updated V8 quattro Evo. Hans Joachim Stuck would lead the squad with the #1 car, though a young upstart new to the Audi brand if not the series was Frank Biela.
