Summary: The Audi museum mobile is the primary public exhibition space for Audi AG’s collection of vintage automobiles and race cars managed by Audi Tradition. Opened on December 15, 2000, the museum resides as the primary focal point upon entry of the grand Audi Forum Ingolstadt, the public welcome area of Audi’s primary factory in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The building is unique, with round glass construction and trademark paternoster, a rotisserie style vertical display for automobiles that tends to feature cars around a specific theme – race cars, concept cars, etc. On the ground floor there is typically a rotating display with an additional theme and with a broader focus that often sees subjects well beyond the Audi brand specifically.

Auf dem Paternoster im Audi museum mobile sind derzeit Ikonen aus der jΓΌngeren Motorsportgeschichte von Audi ausgestellt.

At the main entrance is also the Museum Shop that showcases an eclectic mix of books, model cars, apparel, souvenirs and more.

Audi describes the museum mobile as such:

The Audi museum mobile was built on 15. December 2000 solemnly opened. It impresses even after a quarter of a century with its architectural design and shapes the Audi Forum Ingolstadt with its round glass construction. In terms of urban planning, it represents the entrance to the plant site, and in terms of content, it implements ideas such as transparency and mobility. Behind a fully glazed facade, its extraordinary and timeless architecture takes up the principle of the annual rings of a tree and thus symbolically combines duration and change as well as tradition and progress. Every year, around 120,000 visitors experience the special history of the brand with the four rings and the company Audi. More than a hundred historic automobiles and exhibits are exhibited there. For International Museum Day, these will be supplemented on the Audi Piazza by over a dozen anniversary vehicles such as the Grand Prix racing car Auto Union Type C, the first Audi after the Second World War and the imposing Horch 853 A Sportcabriolet.
