Test Mules & F1 Collide in Barcelona

Last week when we covered Audi Revolut F1’s downtown Barcelona team pop-up placement, it seemed an appropriate time to drop word to ooooIYKYK contributor Sergi Colome. Sergi’s a Barcelona local and we figured he may want to swing by, check it out… maybe pick up some Audi Revolut F1 adidas team gear.

Colome responded almost immediately. He didn’t tell me the details, but I can imagine him spit-taking an espresso at a Barcelona street cafe while reading the message. Okay, that part didn’t happen, but what did was definitely LOL worthy.

Why? Though we haven’t always named him, you’ve seen his work here before in more subtle ways. Sergi will be traveling throughout his day in Barcelona and occasionally spot a test mule. Remember our reporting on that A6 allroad test mule back in October? Yeah. That was Sergi.

More recently, he’d spied a Q7 test mule as well. This site never ran the photos, but he’d shared them. Then, last week when I sent over the Audi Revolut F1 pop-up information, he sent me back a mobile phone photo of that Q7 test mule with a hand drawn arrow. As it turns out, he knew exactly where the location was and had effectively photographed that Q7 test mule in front of that very building.

It seems all roads lead to Barcelona. #dadjoke

Anyway, Sergi’s clearly familiar with the neighborhood so swung by in order to take a closer look. The staff there were kind enough to give him access to the space and so we’re able to share this truly deep gallery of what he found.

Alas, I wasn’t in Barcelona for the Grand Prix or for spying test mules. If you weren’t either then enjoy these photos and we can all live this week vicariously through Sergi Colome.
