ABT Sportsline has introduced its RS 5-R package for the new Audi RS 5, combining a claimed 720 PS system output with suspension changes, 22-inch forged wheels and an extensive carbon fiber exterior package. The new model carries ABT’s familiar limited-edition formula into the RS 5’s plug-in hybrid era. Its published specifications separate the increase in combustion-engine output from the combined system figure, while the brochure also previews a further power upgrade planned for 2027.
MORE OUTPUT FROM THE V6
ABT’s Power S upgrade raises combined output from the standard 470 kW (639 PS) and 825 Nm to approximately 529 kW (720 PS) and 905 Nm. In U.S. terms, that is roughly 710 hp and 668 lb-ft, an increase of 81 PS and 80 Nm over the factory system ratings.
The 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 itself rises from 375 kW (510 PS) and 600 Nm to approximately 435 kW (591 PS) and 680 Nm. ABT’s published changes therefore center on the combustion engine; the supplied specifications do not identify an increase in electric-motor output.
The quoted figures require 98 RON gasoline, and Power S is compatible with the myABT app. ABT specifies that top speed remains unchanged and does not provide an updated acceleration time in the supplied material.
CARBON BODYWORK, REVISED SUSPENSION
The exterior package includes a front spoiler with additional blades, wheelhouse louvers, mirror caps, side skirts and a rear diffuser. The Avant adds a rear wing with aero blades, a component omitted from the Sedan package.
Buyers can choose glossy exposed carbon fiber or a matte Carbon Camouflage finish. ABT describes the latter, which combines a carbon texture with a camouflage pattern, as a first for the company.
Chassis changes comprise ABT suspension springs and sport anti-roll bars, paired with gloss-black EVO Performance 22-inch forged wheels and tires. ABT describes a sportier setup, although the supplied specifications do not quantify ride-height changes or provide comparative handling data.
Inside, Dinamica covers the center-console trim, dashboard covers and seat-frame covers. Carbon fiber shift paddles, front-seat trim panels, RS 5-R floor mats and an ABT luggage-compartment mat complete the main changes. A “1 of 130” center-console badge and matching door sills identify the limited edition, accompanied by entrance lighting and a key cover.
PRICING AND A PLANNED 800 PS UPGRADE
The brochure lists German package pricing from €62,000 for the Sedan and €65,000 for the Avant with glossy carbon fiber. Carbon Camouflage raises those figures to €65,000 and €68,000 respectively. These prices include 19 percent VAT but exclude the donor vehicle, installation and applicable painting work, plus TÜV approval.
Listed installation and painting charges are €7,160 for the gloss-carbon Sedan and €7,600 for the gloss-carbon Avant. Installation for the Carbon Camouflage versions is €6,820 and €7,260 respectively, with TÜV approval additional in each case.
Complete-car pricing starts at €184,020 for the gloss-carbon Sedan and €189,110 for the equivalent Avant. With Carbon Camouflage, the listed starting prices are €187,020 and €192,110 respectively, including 19 percent VAT.
There is also more planned. The brochure lists an ABT-Akrapovič exhaust system for Q2 2027 at €9,100, plus installation and TÜV approval. An ABT Power R upgrade targeting approximately 800 PS is listed for the same period at an additional €4,000, including installation and TÜV approval. Both option prices include 19 percent VAT; further technical details and performance figures are not provided.
ABT says customers can commission a complete car or convert an existing RS 5. It describes the program as available worldwide, subject to country-specific registration requirements. Availability may vary by market.
