As the date for the arrival of the all-new RS 5 replacement nears, new information is coming in fast and furious. While this site made a post just earlier this week, new and convincing renderings are popping up, new information has surfaced, and theories on the latest design are being discussed. This seemed a good opportunity for another update, along with a few original renderings unique to this site.
EXPECTED DROP DATE
On Instagram, @Wilcoblok shared a spy photo along with a purported launch date of February 19. Whether or not it is that date remains to be seen but chatter on various automotive outlets suggests it’s coming up in February and @Wilcoblok tends to be a reliable source.

CONVINCING RENDERINGS
Some of the best renderings of the car yet, not surprising given they’re created by Avarvarii popped up over on AutoZeitung. I love the look, but there are two things I think may be changed from what we’re seeing on his renderings.
First, he used the evolved Avus wheel design of the current RS Q8 that seems to also harken the B7 RS 4 wheel. I love that wheel (and used it on my own RS 6 C9 renderings) but we’re not seeing it much of anywhere else, suggesting it might not go on these cars.
Next is a change that stemmed from the bumper photos published here earlier this week. While I have no doubt those photos are real as some included part numbers, I suspect they may be photos of early preproduction parts.
Worth noting, the Avarvarii renderings are red and you’ll need to click through to AutoZeitung to see them.

CREATING EXCLUSIVE RENDERINGS
After I published those photos from @mastachazrs earlier this week, @audi.pix joined the discussion on Instagram and pointe out more recent changes being noticed on test mules in the last few weeks. It would seem the horizontal splitter mid-way up the side intakes at the front of the car has disappeared in favor of a vertical outer air blade.
Since I’ve not generated any renderings specifically for this site yet, I figured it was about time. For these, I went with a dream spec – Nogaro Blue, the same RS 5 rotor-style 5-spoke alloys we’ve been seeing on test mules, and a subtle badge change.
Both Avant and Sedan versions were created. While the Avant is dreamier for most enthusiasts, the Sedan also looks pretty great and is the expected only body style for the North American market this website calls home. And while I lament the Avant’s not coming, that sedan starts to hark the magic of the B7 RS 4 Sedan and I’m here for it.
There’s one last change worth mentioning before others point it out as slop in the AI tools I used to help create these. The badging says “RS 4” and not “RS 5”. Rest assured, that was intentional. It’s a bit of an Easter egg. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner made news this week when he admitted a name change back to the “A4” nomenclature perhaps around the mid-lifecycle product improvement.
Given the RS 5 isn’t here yet, it’s feasible Audi could call it RS 4. I suspect the move would appease enthusiasts yet also perhaps be a bit confusing for those less familiar with the brand. Time will tell.

NOTE TO PUBLISHERS
As with other times this website has run unique renderings, I am okay with your reuse of these images providing you credit and link this website in stories or link this website’s relevant social media account should you post this on a social media platform.
The last time we tried this with the GT50 Concept, many of you did so and I am very appreciative. Others who appear to have maybe gotten the images second hand, posted those images crediting Audi and have no real way to contact you (looking at you Audiworld). Please don’t do that. It’s hard enough being a publisher in this media landscape nowadays, and I’m not charging. Exposure for and credit to this website and its social media accounts is all I ask.
