Falken will supply its AZENIS FK520 summer tire as original equipment for the Audi Q7 and Q9. Developed for Audi and marked with the R0 designation, the tire is available as a factory-fit option in three sizes for 20-, 21- and 22-inch wheels.
The announcement comes from Falken’s European operation and does not specify whether the tires will be fitted to U.S.-market vehicles. Both the Q7 and Q9 are produced at Audi’s plant in Bratislava, Slovakia.
THREE SIZES FOR Q7 AND Q9
Falken lists the AZENIS FK520 (R0) in the following sizes for both SUVs:
- 275/50 R20 113Y XL
- 285/45 R21 113Y XL
- 285/40 R22 110Y XL
All three are reinforced Extra Load tires with a Y speed rating, indicating approval for speeds of up to 186 mph. Falken says customers can view the tires fitted to their selected wheels, along with European tire-label information, in Audi’s vehicle configurator.
A GROWING ORIGINAL-EQUIPMENT BUSINESS
The FK520 is Falken’s ultra-high-performance summer tire for road cars and SUVs. When the company introduced the range, it highlighted an aramid-reinforced construction intended to increase rigidity and improve steering response, along with a tread design developed to reduce road noise.
“It is an important step for our original equipment business to fit the Q7 and Q9, two models of great importance to Audi, with the FALKEN AZENIS FK520 (R0) as a factory-fitted option,” said Christian Stolting, OE Sales Director at Dunlop Tyre Europe GmbH, which distributes Falken tires in Europe. “The choice of our tyres for these Audi models reflects confidence in the performance and quality of FALKEN in this segment.”
Falken says its original-equipment relationships also include Porsche and Mercedes-Benz. Among its other Volkswagen Group applications, the AZENIS FK510A SUV was approved for the Porsche Macan in 2018, while an NG0-marked version of the FK520 was selected for the Cayenne Electric in 2026.
