H&R Adds Lowering Spring Options for B10 Audi A5 Sedan and Avant

H&R Germany has released lowering spring applications for the B10-generation Audi A5, covering Sedan and Avant body styles as well as TFSI, TDI and e-hybrid powertrains. Depending on the factory suspension and powertrain, the new springs lower the A5 by as much as 45 mm, or approximately 1.8 inches.

The new spring kits are designed to work with the A5’s existing dampers rather than requiring a complete coilover conversion. H&R has developed applications for cars equipped with Audi’s standard suspension as well as the S sport suspension and S sport suspension with damper control.

TFSI APPLICATIONS

For the 2.0 TFSI quattro with standard suspension (PR code 1BA), H&R’s part number 28519-3 lowers both the front and rear by 40 mm, or approximately 1.6 inches.

The same 28519-3 spring set can be used with cars equipped with S sport suspension (1BE) or S sport suspension with damper control (1BQ), where the resulting drop is 25 mm, or approximately 1 inch, front and rear.

H&R also lists part number 28519-1 for the front-wheel-drive 2.0 TFSI with standard suspension, providing a 40-mm drop at both axles.

TDI APPLICATIONS

Diesel applications get a slightly greater drop. The 2.0 TDI quattro with standard suspension uses the 28519-3 kit and is lowered 45 mm, or approximately 1.8 inches, front and rear.

Cars fitted with the S sport suspension or S sport suspension with damper control use the same part number but are lowered 30 mm, or approximately 1.2 inches, at both ends.

E-HYBRID APPLICATIONS

H&R hasn’t overlooked the heavier plug-in hybrid A5. Part number 28519-2 is listed for both 220-kW and 270-kW versions of the 2.0-liter e-hybrid quattro with standard suspension.

Here the drop is slightly staggered, lowering the front by 40 mm and the rear by 35 mm — approximately 1.6 and 1.4 inches respectively.

Beyond reducing the wheel-to-fender gap, lowering the car reduces its center of gravity, with H&R promising more direct response while maintaining everyday usability. Because the springs retain the factory dampers, they also offer a relatively straightforward option for B10 A5 owners looking for a lower stance without moving to a complete aftermarket suspension.

All of the applications listed are for B10 A5 Sedan and Avant models from model year 2025 onward.
