German suspension specialist H&R has announced a new lowering spring package for the latest Audi SQ5 and SQ5 Sportback (GU generation), offering owners a suspension upgrade aimed at improving both appearance and handling characteristics.
According to information released by H&R Germany, the new spring kit is designed specifically for 2025 model year and newer SQ5 models equipped with the factory S line sport suspension. The application covers the 3.0 TFSI quattro variants, including the SQ5 Sportback.
The lowering spring set carries part number 28512-1 and lowers ride height by approximately 45 mm at both the front and rear axles. H&R says the resulting lower center of gravity helps reduce body roll while improving steering response and overall chassis precision. The company also notes that the vehicle’s payload rating remains unchanged from the factory specification.

Visually, the reduced ride height gives the SQ5 Sportback a more aggressive stance by decreasing wheel arch gaps and bringing the body closer to the wheels. While the aesthetic changes are immediately noticeable, H&R positions the upgrade primarily as a handling enhancement intended to sharpen the driving experience without sacrificing everyday usability.
For owners seeking a wider track, H&R also offers its Trak+ wheel spacers for the SQ5 platform. Manufactured from high-strength aluminum and available in either silver or black anodized finishes, the spacers begin at 16 mm per axle and are intended to position the wheels more flush with the outer fender line. The spacers are compatible with both factory and aftermarket wheel applications.
Like other H&R products, the components are manufactured in Germany and supplied with the appropriate German certification documentation. H&R also notes that the suspension modifications can be removed and the vehicle returned to factory specification if required for lease return purposes.

Audi enthusiasts may already be familiar with H&R through the aftermarket tuning community, where the company’s springs, coilovers and wheel spacer systems have long been popular upgrades for both Audi Sport and mainstream Audi models.
As always, prospective buyers should note that this information originates from H&R Germany. Product availability, approved vehicle applications, certification requirements and specifications may vary in other markets, including North America.
