ABT Sportsline Launches Augmented Hybrid Audi A6 Avant for Europe with 428 hp

German Audi tuning house ABT Sportsline has revealed a new tuning package for the latest European-market Audi A6 Avant e-hybrid (C9), adding more power, revised suspension tuning and a more aggressive exterior treatment to Audi’s plug-in hybrid executive wagon.

The package is based on the new A6 Avant sold in Europe and is not currently offered in the United States, where Audi has neither announced plans for the latest A6 Avant nor A6 e-hybrid as of yet. For now, this ABT conversion centers around Euro-spec plug-in hybrid powertrains not presently available here.

ABT says the upgrade is available in two output levels depending on the underlying drivetrain. Vehicles originally producing 299 horsepower are increased to 360 hp, while higher-output variants climb from 367 hp to as much as 428 hp. Torque rises to up to 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).

Rather than fundamentally altering the hybrid system’s character, ABT says the recalibration is intended to preserve the refinement and daily usability expected of a plug-in hybrid A6 Avant while adding stronger response throughout the rev range.

Visually, the package remains relatively restrained by ABT standards. Changes include a gloss black front spoiler, revised rear trim with a decorative rear strut element, a roof spoiler with additional aero trim pieces and the company’s signature quad exhaust outlets. The wagon also receives 21-inch ABT EVO wheels, helping visually bridge the gap between a standard A6 Avant and Audi Sport’s RS models.
