Audi Alumni Set to Headline Goodwood Revival 2026 Driver Lineup

Goodwood Revival has announced its initial driver lineup for 2026, and Audi’s motorsport legacy is once again heavily represented across the entry list.

While the Revival routinely draws competitors from Formula 1, endurance racing, touring cars and motorcycle racing, several of the most notable names confirmed for this year’s event have deep ties to Audi Sport’s modern racing history — particularly from the brand’s dominant era at Le Mans and in touring car competition.

Leading that contingent is Tom Kristensen, the most successful driver in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and a defining figure of Audi’s endurance racing program during the R8, R10 TDI, R15 and R18 eras. Kristensen remains closely associated with the brand and has become a regular presence at major historic motorsport events tied to Audi heritage. Mr. Le Mans is also closely associated with Goodwood where he is a frequent attendee at most motorsport events on the premises and serves as Captain of Goodwood’s Darnley House on Members’ Meeting Weekends.

Tom is joined by fellow former Audi factory drivers André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer and Marcel Fässler — the trio that helped deliver multiple Le Mans victories for Audi during the hybrid prototype era. Together, they formed one of the core driver combinations behind the Audi R18 program’s success in the early 2010s.

Also returning is Emanuele Pirro, another major figure from Audi’s Le Mans dominance. Pirro won five editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Audi between 2000 and 2007 and remains one of the most recognizable names from the brand’s endurance racing history.

German racer Frank Stippler is also confirmed. Stippler has long been associated with Audi Sport customer racing programs, including Nürburgring endurance competition and GT racing, while continuing to play a role in new car development for Audi Sport GmbH and historic demonstrations for Audi Tradition.

The broader Goodwood Revival field will also feature Formula 1 World Champions including Jenson Button and Jacques Villeneuve, alongside IndyCar champions Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon.

Goodwood has also confirmed the return of a number of major endurance racing names including Romain Dumas, David Brabham and Guy Smith.

The 2026 Revival takes place September 18–20 at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, England. As in previous years, the event combines period-correct historic racing with a heavily curated paddock atmosphere centered on preserving mid-century motorsport culture.

For Audi enthusiasts in particular, this year’s confirmed roster effectively reads like a cross-section of the marque’s most successful modern racing programs — from Le Mans prototypes and GT endurance racing to touring cars and customer competition.

WILL AUDI BE THERE?

It’s worth clarifying, this news comes from Goodwood and involves the Goodwood Revival that’s not to be confused with the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Audi Tradition made headlines revealing their new Auto Union Type A Lucca re-creation, also confirming that car for the Festival of Speed. While Audi has been present at the Revival years ago, they haven’t gone recently that we know of and until that’s ultimately confirmed the focus here is on the driving legends and not the cars. Should Audi announce plans or the venue share news on the brand’s participation in the Goodwood Revival, we will certainly report on that here.
