While not an official tie-in with the brand of the four rings, the colors on this Union Glashütte chronograph are unmistakably familiar.
The latest Belisar Chronograph Limited Edition Silvretta Classic from German watchmaker Union Glashütte features yellow, grey, black, white and red color palette that feels remarkably familiar to anyone who spent time staring at photographs of 1980s Audi rally cars. In fact, Union Glashütte’s own promotional imagery attributes their inspiration. Look closely at the brand’s social media posts and you’ll spot an Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 in the background.
The Belisar Chronograph pairs a white dial with yellow and black accents including subdials and red accents throughout the tachymeter, pulsometer and chronograph hands. The combination immediately recalls the HB Audi Team liveries synonymous with Audi’s Group B era dominance.
The watch’s stainless steel case measures 44 mm in diameter and is topped by a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters, while a sapphire caseback reveals the movement inside. The dial incorporates both tachymeter and pulsometer scales, a nod to classic racing chronographs and timing instruments.
Power comes from Union Glashütte’s D009.427.18.011.09 automatic chronograph movement, based on the proven ETA Valjoux 7753 architecture. The movement features a silicon balance spring for improved resistance to magnetism and delivers a 65-hour power reserve. Functions include elapsed-time measurement through 30-minute and 12-hour counters, running seconds and a date display.
The watch is limited to 200 individually numbered pieces and offered on either a yellow textile strap, a classic stainless steel bracelet and a black leather strap with a color accent depending on specification, with a quick-change system allowing owners to swap between them without tools.
Union Glashütte has long embraced automotive culture through rally-themed limited editions and classic motoring events, making the visual link to Audi’s competition heritage feel even more natural.
