COBI Bricks Reveals First Audi-Licensed quattro Brick Set

There’s no question the brick segment has grown well beyond the usual obvious player in the space, and one popular European market player is COBI. Over the years, the Cobi has stepped into the automotive world with often vintage-focused models of well-loved German cars – think 80s era water-cooled Volkswagens. Then, in January at the Spielwarenmesse toy fair in Nuremberg, they definitely caught our attention with an Audi Sport quattro S1 E2 in their booth along with confirmation of several upcoming Audi-based kits.

At Spielwarenmesse, the brand showed off several prototype kits. Prototype packaging designs confirmed they were 1:35 scale and meant for children seven and up. Kits on display there confirmed two of the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, two of the 1980 Audi quattro in red and white, and a final kit of the Audi quattro Rallye Group 4.

Today, the German scale model industry is again active with the Intermodellbau in Dortmund and Cobi is again making some Audi news. This time it’s what appears to be a fully production kit of the 1980 quattro.

Notably, these are fully licensed models meaning done with Audi’s blessing and wearing Audi’s branding. With COBI’s distribution, you’re likely to see them in European toy stores and notably they do have shipping to the USA for the motivated buyer.

The photos were seen on Cobi’s Facebook page though you can also find them on their Instagram account or check out their official website.
