Hinwil, Switzerland — The Audi Revolut F1 Team confirmed that Freddie Slater will compete in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident Motorsport while receiving support and guidance through the Audi Driver Development Programme. The move formally links the junior standout with Audi’s Formula 1 structure as the manufacturer continues building its works operation.
Slater built his reputation in international karting, where he claimed both CIK-FIA Karting World and European Championship titles. He transitioned to single-seaters with immediate results, winning the UAE F4 Championship and the Italian F4 Championship in successive campaigns.
Most recently, Slater competed in the Formula Regional European Championship, where he secured multiple race wins and earned rookie of the year honors on his way to the series title. His performances across categories have placed him among the most closely watched young drivers moving up the FIA development ladder.
Audi confirmed that the Driver Development Programme is overseen by three-time Le Mans winner Allan McNish. Slater’s addition establishes the first competitive pathway driver aligned directly with the Audi Revolut F1 Team structure ahead of the 2026 season.
