Audi Hits 300,000 Sales Milestone in South Korea

Audi has reached 300,000 cumulative vehicle registrations in South Korea, becoming only the third imported automotive brand to cross that threshold in the country. Only Mercedes-Benz and BMW have previously surpassed 300,000 cumulative registrations in Korea, making Audi the third imported brand to do so.

Audi Korea officially began operations on October 5, 2004, putting the 300,000-car milestone just shy of 22 years after establishment of the local subsidiary.

The timing comes amid renewed growth for Audi in Korea. According to Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) figures reported by Korean media, Audi registered 9,082 vehicles during the first eight months of 2026, up 22.2 percent from 7,432 during the same period last year. That follows 11,001 registrations during 2025, an increase of 18.2 percent from 2024.

Korea itself has developed into a significant market for imported automobiles. Imported passenger-car registrations surpassed 300,000 in a single year for the first time in 2025, reaching 307,377 vehicles. BMW led the market with 77,127 registrations, followed by Mercedes-Benz with 68,467.

AUDI MARKS THE MILESTONE WITH “thAnk Q”

To commemorate reaching 300,000 registrations, Audi Korea is launching a customer appreciation program dubbed “thAnk Q” in cooperation with its nationwide dealer network. According to Audi Korea, the program will offer customers a range of benefits and brand experiences intended both to mark the sales milestone and strengthen its relationship with existing owners.

The 300,000 figure puts a significant marker on Audi’s more than two decades in South Korea. More importantly, becoming only the third imported brand to reach it places Audi alongside Mercedes-Benz and BMW in demonstrating the depth of the German premium brands’ presence in the Korean market.
