Polish rally driver Miko Marczyk drove an Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance 1,338 kilometers (831 miles) on one charge, setting a Guinness World Record for the longest journey in a production electric car without recharging. Marczyk won the 2025 FIA European Rally Championship and is a two-time Polish rally champion.
The attempt began in Zakopane, Poland, at 1:55 a.m. on September 11. Marczyk traveled north through Kraków and Warsaw to Hel on the Baltic coast, then followed much of the same route south. The drive ended between Toruń and Ciechocinek more than 45 hours after it began. Audi says it took place on public roads in normal traffic, including rush-hour periods. The reported average energy consumption was 7.09 kWh/100 km, or approximately 4.4 miles per kWh.
The A6 Sportback e-tron performance has a 94.9-kWh usable battery and a stated WLTP range of up to 777 kilometers (483 miles). Its drag coefficient is 0.21. Marczyk said he focused on smooth driving, anticipating traffic, using regenerative braking and maintaining tire pressure throughout the attempt. Those conditions make the record an example of deliberate efficiency driving rather than a measure of range in routine use.
Marczyk has completed a similar challenge before. In 2025, he drove a Škoda Superb 2,831 kilometers (1,759 miles) on one tank of fuel, also setting a Guinness record. Volkswagen Financial Services, for which he serves as a brand ambassador, supported the Audi drive. The company says the previous record for a production EV driven without recharging was 1,205 kilometers (749 miles) in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.
