LEGO RETURNS FOR BRITISH GP DRIVER’S PARADE

Formula 1 will give the traditional pre-race Drivers’ Parade at the British Grand Prix a playful makeover this year, with all 22 drivers taking to the Silverstone circuit in fully drivable LEGO minicars. Scheduled approximately 90 minutes before the race, the parade will see each driver piloting a LEGO car finished in their team’s 2026 livery and carrying their race number, creating one of the weekend’s most distinctive fan-focused attractions.

The activation builds on the popularity of the LEGO big-build cars that debuted during the Drivers’ Parade at the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, which quickly became one of the season’s most memorable off-track moments. Formula 1 and the LEGO Group have expanded the concept significantly for Silverstone, transforming the parade into a full-field spectacle featuring every driver.

Each LEGO minicar required more than 28,000 LEGO bricks and forms part of a project that consumed over 6,400 combined development and construction hours. Built by a team of 20 designers, engineers and LEGO specialists at the LEGO Group’s factory in Kladno, Czech Republic, the 280-kilogram cars ride on standard go-kart wheels, can reach speeds of up to 25 km/h, and incorporate approximately 65 kilograms of LEGO bricks.

Formula 1 says the initiative reflects its continued focus on creating memorable experiences for fans both at the circuit and watching around the world. Following the enthusiastic reception to last year’s Miami parade, the expanded Silverstone display is expected to deliver another lighthearted highlight ahead of Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

R:9 TEAM RACE PREVIEW

Audi Revolut F1 Team heads to the home of Formula One with the aim to carry the positives from recent races into this weekend’s British Grand Prix. Encouraging steps in pace, execution and overall performance over the past few events have provided a solid foundation on which to build, with the focus now on continuing that progress at Silverstone โ€“ one of the most historic venues on the calendar.

Alongside Formula One action, Audi Driver Development Programme members, Freddie Slater and Emma Felbermayr, will also be back on track this weekend as they continue their Formula 3 and F1 Academy campaigns.

TEAM QUOTES

2026 Austrian Grand Prix – Friday

Allan McNish, Racing Director
“The last few race weekends have shown encouraging progress and, while we know there is still a lot of work ahead of us, it is important that we keep moving in the right direction. Austria, in particular, was one of the best weekends we have had, from an operational point of view, and a blueprint of what we need to do to keep progressing. We have seen positive signs from our car and from the way we have been operating together, and now the goal is to turn that into concrete results. Silverstone is always a special event on the calendar, there is always a special energy to it, and it is a great opportunity to keep building on what we’ve learned so far. Itโ€™s also going to be a significant moment for me โ€“ Silverstone is where I took part in my first ever car race in 1987 and to come back in this role is surely something that makes me proud.”

2026 British Grand Prix – Thursday

Nico Hulkenberg, Car #27
“There have been quite a few positive signs to take from the recent races, even if the results haven’t always reflected the potential of our package. The important thing is to keep working hard, executing well and making sure we extract the most from our car: if we do that, results will come. Silverstone is a circuit I have always enjoyed, and last year’s podium gives me plenty of good memories heading back. With this being a Sprint event, it’s going to be a busy weekend where every lap will count, but hopefully we can carry the positives forward and convert them into a solid result.”

2026 British Grand Prix – Thursday

Gabriel Bortoleto, Car #5
“We have been making progress over the last few weekends, and every time we are learning a bit more about how to get the most from our car. I finished 11th in the last three races, which shows weโ€™re regularly in contention for the points: hopefully we can go one better soon. What we showed in Austria was encouraging, and the package we brought there helped with that, too; hopefully we can carry that into Silverstone. It’s a circuit I quite enjoyed both last year and in my junior career, and with the Sprint format it will be important to get on top of things quickly. I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this weekend.”
