InterClassics Brussels will center its 2026 edition on one of rallying’s most intense and influential eras, confirming “Rally Legends” as this year’s headline theme.
Scheduled for November 20–22, 2026 at Brussels Expo, the show turns its attention to Group B, the short-lived World Rally Championship category that ran from 1982 through 1986.
GROUP B: PEAK PERFORMANCE, MINIMAL CONSTRAINTS
In just four seasons, Group B accelerated rally development at a pace that has yet to be repeated. Manufacturers including Audi, Lancia, Peugeot and Ford introduced lightweight, high-output cars that combined turbocharging with increasingly advanced all-wheel-drive systems.
Power outputs approached 600 horsepower, while relatively open regulations allowed rapid iteration. The result was a category defined as much by engineering ambition as it was by spectacle.

LEGACY & LIMITS
The same conditions that enabled Group B’s rise also contributed to its abrupt end. A series of fatal incidents in 1986 led to the category’s cancellation, closing a brief but formative chapter in rally history.
Its influence remains evident today, particularly in drivetrain technology and performance engineering. For Audi, the era also cemented quattro as a defining part of the brand’s identity.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN BRUSSELS
Specific display cars have not yet been confirmed, though event materials point clearly to the Group B era as the focal point. Notably, the official poster features the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, one of the most recognizable cars of the period and a reference point for Audi’s competition program at its peak.
