There’s something about Audi’s Nogaro Blue. A modernized pearlescent take on the pre-war national racing color of French Blue, the hue has established itself as a bit of an institution with in four rings circles.
First launched as RS Blue on the RS2, it would later take on the name of the Nogaro racing circuit when it returned on the Audi S4 (B5). Its continued return on the most sporting Audi models and special editions over the years has helped keep the passion alive for the color and helps it remain one of the most choice of Audi exclusive paint codes.
Presently, Nogaro Blue isn’t standard on anything. It has to be special-ordered. So while its heritage makes it popular, it remains a rare thing. I see Nogaro cars pop up with a fair degree of regularity and track them more closely over on the Tailored Driver website dedicated to special factory builds. They appear with enough regularity that they may not necessarily be newsworthy in the ooooIYKYK editorial mix. However, when a large gaggle of Nogaro Blue Audi models hit the market all of once… well… that’s worth a mention.
