Audi AG has released this teaser image of the upcoming next-generation Q3 crossover while confirming a public reveal event June 17-18 at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt. The decision marks some notable departures for Audi in two different ways.
First, the new Q3 was fast tracked. The current-generation Q3 (type F3) was first went on sale in 2019, and it never really received a mid-lifecycle product improvement (also known as “P.I.” or facelift). Perhaps then like the A6/A7 range, the brand decided to forego the P.I. in favor of fast-tracking the replacement being teased here.
The other change is using the Audi Forum Ingolstadt for a public reveal. It’s possible the brand has other reveal plans for the car as well, but the event at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt event is all that’s been shared so far. In an era where auto show reveals are no longer as important and lifestyle events such as Monterey or Goodwood tend to get more exotic or technologically groundbreaking cars, a volume model like the Q3 still needs a space. Given that, sharing it at their main customer reception space in their world headquarters makes a lot of sense.
The event then is a two day summer party dipped the “Audi Q3 Summer Reveal” at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt. Planned for the piazza in the center of the Audi Forum, activities will include a car show, photo box and regional food trucks.
Emphasizing community, this isn’t just for Audi fans and customers. A special musical lunch break has been designed by employees and will include DJs from the Audi staff that goes into the evening.
