There are good days — and then there are really good days. For nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen, the autumn afternoon he took delivery of his new Audi RS 6 Avant performance was firmly in the latter category. At his home in Hobro, Denmark, Audi Sport presented Kristensen with the keys to what is both a personal milestone and a symbolic moment for the brand: the final European delivery of the C8-generation RS 6 Avant performance, finished in Sebring Black and customized by Audi exclusive.
Kristensen’s new long-roof supercar represents the closing chapter of an era that defined Audi Sport’s road-car division. Under its sculpted bodywork sits the familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 TFSI, delivering 630 horsepower and 850 newton-meters of torque through quattro all-wheel drive. The result is always impressive — 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h — wrapped in one of the most versatile silhouettes in performance motoring. For Kristensen, who built his legacy mastering endurance over outright aggression, the RS 6 Avant’s dual personality as both family hauler and Autobahn hammer feels perfectly on brand.

Audi exclusive, Ingolstadt’s bespoke customization arm, ensured this final example carried details worthy of “Mr. Le Mans.” Red brake calipers hint at competition intent, while silver trim limited to the four-ring Audi logo and matte silver mirrors give this otherwise blacked-out car some most interesting highlights. Inside, unique illuminated door sills commemorate his record nine Le Mans victories — inscribed “9 × Le Mans Winner” and accompanied by Kristensen’s signature. The interior continues the theme of understated excellence, with subtle personal cues woven into the car’s already rich mix of premium materials and RS-specific trim.
Perhaps the most fitting touch, however, lies in the paint. While Audi has no official “Le Mans Blue” or “Sarthe Silver,” the brand does have Sebring Black — a hue named for the Florida circuit where Kristensen earned another nickname: “Mr. Sebring.” His six victories there, paired with his Le Mans record, cemented his place as endurance racing’s ultimate benchmark. In this context, Sebring Black is more than just a shade; it’s a reflection of T.K.’s career, connecting his past victories with the final form of Audi’s V8 Avant.

For Audi Sport, handing over the last European C8 RS 6 Avant performance to the driver who helped define its motorsport identity seems poetic. Kristensen’s relationship with Audi stretches back to the glory days of R8 LMP dominance and continued through every major chapter of the brand’s endurance racing story. To this day, he remains a brand ambassador and the living embodiment of Audi’s mantra: Vorsprung durch Technik.
As the automotive world pivots toward electrification — and as Audi prepares its next RS 6 for launch — this handover in Hobro becomes more than a customer delivery. It’s a celebration of mechanical mastery and human connection, where the final European RS 6 Avant finds its rightful home in the hands of the man who turned endurance into art.
