Audi Adds New Tech, Dynamics and In-Car Experiences for PPE & PPC Cars

Audi is rolling out a sweeping set of hardware and software upgrades across five major model series for the European market, introducing new performance settings, improved driver assistance, enhanced interior tech and expanded digital services. The updates apply to vehicles built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architectures, including the A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron. Timing and availability for the United States and Canada will be announced at a later date.

The changes arrive with the new model year and highlight the flexibility of Audi’s two core platforms, bringing added capability to both combustion and electric cars. Much of the update focuses on features that heighten driving engagement, improve efficiency or deliver a more intuitive digital environment. Audi notes that these enhancements reinforce the long-term viability of its core architectures as the brand transitions through its next generation of combustion and electric models.

New Audi drive select mode ‘Dynamic Plus’: For maximum driving dynamics, it offers rear-biased handling with controlled drifts – delivering an especially intense driving experience.

A major dynamic upgrade is the introduction of the new “dynamic plus” driving mode for the S5 and S6 e-tron. This setting unlocks more playful handling characteristics, pairing tighter drivetrain response with sport-calibrated stability control and, on applicable models, brake torque vectoring and quattro sport differential functionality. The result is a driving experience with greater lateral agility and the ability to explore controlled oversteer, accompanied by sports-oriented displays and shift-light visuals in the digital instrument cluster. Across the broader PPE range, Audi has also refined regenerative braking so that electric models can now decelerate to a complete stop without relying on friction brakes, improving comfort, efficiency and range.

Driver assistance systems receive a significant expansion. Updated adaptive cruise capability can now support driver-initiated lane changes on highways in certain markets, while traffic sign recognition is able to adjust speed automatically based on posted limits and route data. New parking functions, bundled with park assist pro, add features such as reverse assist for the last 50 metres of travel, manoeuvre assist to help avoid low-speed contact, and learned parking routines for up to five recurrent parking paths. A new smartphone-enabled garage parking function allows the vehicle to position itself without prior mapping.

Lighting technology also moves forward, most notably on the Audi A6, which gains digital matrix LED headlights using micro-LED architecture. These units deliver wider, brighter and more adaptive illumination, projecting cues directly onto the roadway to support lane guidance, highlight nearby pedestrians or warn of slippery conditions. The headlights can also present dynamic welcome and farewell projections, and they pair with updated OLED tail lamps featuring intelligent, animated signature elements.

Inside, the refreshed models adopt a new multifunction steering wheel with more physical controls, replacing certain touch inputs. The interface design aligns with the updated Audi Q3, offering cleaner graphics and simplified menu structures. An expanded Audi smartphone interface allows navigation and media content to appear not only on the central MMI display but also in the virtual cockpit and the passenger-side screen. The A6 receives new front seats with improved comfort and lateral support for PPC variants.

The new MMI user interface features simplified icons, a streamlined structure, and three selectable views in the Audi virtual cockpit.

Audi’s digital assistant has been enhanced with additional artificial-intelligence capabilities. Users can issue more natural commands, reference vehicle data from the assistant’s logbook and access calendars or emails in the in-car office environment. The system can manage routines automatically, such as pre-emptively activating adaptive cruise on motorways or lifting the suspension where the driver regularly encounters steep entrances or uneven surfaces. Voice-controlled operation of driver assists is also part of the expanded feature set.

A factory-integrated 4K dashcam joins the options list, capturing high-resolution video with HDR capability and storing footage locally on an SD card. Automatic incident recording, GPS tagging and app-based control are included, and footage is viewable directly on the central display.

The optional dashcam in the base of the interior mirror records traffic in 4K resolution – including HDR and event function.

Audi is also broadening its cabin-experience features. New “experience worlds” combine lighting, audio, climate and massage functions into curated mood programs that adapt dynamically while driving. All-electric models add a Power Nap mode for breaks during charging stops. In-car gaming gains expanded functionality with Bluetooth controllers, wireless headphone support and access to new titles in the Audi Application Store.

European-market ordering for PPC models equipped with these updates begins in calendar week 48, with PPE models following in week 49. Specifications for other global markets, including the U.S. and Canada, will be confirmed at a later date.

For Audi’s European customers, the latest round of updates demonstrates how the brand intends to keep both combustion and electric vehicles evolving well into their life cycles — blending performance, comfort and technology in ways that feel distinctly future-leaning.
