As Audi prepares for its Formula 1 debut, the Audi museum mobile is connecting past and future with a focused lecture evening tied to its current special exhibition, “Grand Prix Legends.” Scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, the event is organized by Audi Tradition and will explore more than a century of Grand Prix history, from the Silver Arrow era of the 1930s to Audi’s modern F1 program.
The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. (admission from 5:30 p.m.) and is free to attend, though advance registration is required. Importantly for international visitors, the two scheduled lectures are expected to be delivered in German.

The first presentation, “Auto Union Grand Prix Wagen 1934 to 1939,” will be delivered by historian Jakob Kolbersberger, an established authority on the pre-war Silver Arrows. His talk will trace the origins of Auto Union AG and the development of the four-ring brand’s earliest Grand Prix cars. Between 1934 and 1939, Auto Union’s rear-engined racers represented some of the most technically advanced machines in international competition. Kolbersberger is expected to outline their engineering concepts, key technical specifications, principal drivers and the competitive successes that defined the era.
From there, the program shifts to the future. Theresa Heckl of the Audi Formula 1 Office will present “Audi Road to Formula 1,” detailing the strategic and technical considerations behind the brand’s entry into the modern championship. Her lecture will examine the framework of contemporary Formula 1, the regulatory environment and the broader growth of the series as Audi aligns its motorsport ambitions with the sport’s 2026 technical regulations.

Following the talks, attendees are invited to an evening tour of the “Grand Prix Legends” exhibition, which currently showcases significant racing cars spanning more than 100 years of competition history under the four rings. The exhibition provides historical context for Audi’s F1 commitment, linking the experimental engineering of the 1930s to the company’s next chapter at the pinnacle of global motorsport.
Registration for the March 3 event is available via email at veranstaltungen.museum@audi.de or by telephone at +49 (0)841 89-34433. The registration deadline is Monday, March 2 at 12:00 p.m. local time.
