The oooo Instagram Approach

ooooIYKYK, ISSUE #oo26

There’s a lot happening in the Audi world — a great thing, but also a challenge when this website and project are still a one-person effort in startup phase with no real push for sponsorship income and only a completely voluntary subscription model.

As far as the website goes, the scope continues to grow. It’s all fun, of course, so I’m approaching the expansion a bit like someone with a sweet tooth at a cake buffet — eager to sample everything. That includes a few side projects I want to highlight in case you haven’t noticed them yet.

This week, I’m focusing on Instagram — specifically @ooooIYKYK and @4Rings.AI.

Launching a new Instagram presence like This week, I’m focusing on Instagram — specifically @ooooIYKYK early in 2025 wasn’t easy in today’s crowded influencer landscape. With countless enthusiast accounts all competing for attention, organic growth is difficult without paying for followers. I haven’t paid for any, and the account has grown to just under 1,200 followers as of this morning.

In the grand scheme, that’s not a massive number, but a few key details make it meaningful. For one, those followers are genuinely interested in the Audi brand. Among them are Audi designers, executives, and Audi Sport driving and engineering legends. In fact, Audi’s hometown of Ingolstadt ranks as the top city for followers.

Also important are the well-known enthusiasts and community leaders in the Audi world who follow the project. Seeing people of that caliber engage with the account and the site reinforces that I’m heading in the right direction.

That said, follower count isn’t everything. While 1,200 may not seem large, the engagement behind that number tells a deeper story. In the last 30 days, the account has reached over 700,000 users on Instagram; over the last 90 days, that number exceeds 1 million.

How is that possible? The content feed consistently highlights what’s new and exciting across the Audi brand. It’s not just press releases, sales figures, or recycled news. While I curate the most relevant updates, I also mix in original content, rumors, and insights that keep the feed fresh and engaging.

If you’ve noticed, This week, I’m focusing on Instagram — specifically @ooooIYKYK often works in tandem with another Audi-focused account — @4Rings.AI. That project centers on AI-generated renderings of Audi models, typically exploring imagined designs. It also supports this site by creating visuals for upcoming models, providing original imagery of older cars where photos are scarce, and promoting the recurring “AI Imagined” story series that forms part of this site’s original mix.

Beyond being a creative tool, AI design content is one of the fastest-growing categories on Instagram. I’m proud that @4Rings.AI is followed by many designers beyond the AI niche — its work is regularly seen and shared across the community. The account now has over 50,000 followers, reaching 4.8 million users in the last 30 days and 8.3 million in the past 90.

As Audi rebuilds and prepares to unveil its new F1 team on November 12, I believe it’s essential to remind the world what makes the brand great — its cars, its people, its technology, and its resilience.

For me, Instagram is a vital part of that effort — a way to keep Audi passion in front of those who share it. If you don’t already follow these accounts, please consider doing so. If you’re reading this newsletter on the website, think about subscribing — or even supporting with a paid subscription if you value the work this ooooIYKYK project delivers.

Most importantly, spread the word. This site wouldn’t exist without the incredible community of Audi aficionados who inspire it. It can’t grow without continued awareness and support from that very same community.
