ABT Expands Audi SQ5 Program with New Sportback and 470 HP Power R Upgrade

ABT Sportsline has expanded its latest performance program for the Audi SQ5 Sportback, introducing a new Sportback variant alongside revised power upgrades that push output to as much as 470 horsepower.

The offering is now available for both the standard SQ5 SUV and the more design-focused Sportback, with ABT positioning the latter as the more visually expressive of the two thanks to its coupe-like roofline and compatibility with a full aerodynamic package.

At the core of the upgrade is Audi’s turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, which produces 367 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque in factory form. ABT’s familiar Power S package increases output to approximately 440 horsepower, while the new range-topping Power R upgrade raises that figure further to 470 horsepower and 650 Nm. While top speed remains unchanged, ABT claims a noticeable improvement in acceleration and in-gear pulling power.

The visual changes are equally central to the package. A revised front spoiler and rear apron insert give the SQ5 a wider, more aggressive stance, particularly pronounced on the Sportback’s sloping rear profile. At the back, four 102 mm matte black stainless steel exhaust tips reinforce the performance intent.

Chassis revisions include ABT suspension springs that lower ride height by 40 to 45 mm, reducing body roll and improving overall stance. These are paired with 22-inch ABT EVO Sport wheels finished in gloss black and wrapped in 255/35 ZR22 tires, filling the arches and contributing to sharper handling characteristics. For vehicles equipped with factory air suspension, ABT offers a package variant that omits the lowering springs.

Interior changes remain subtle, limited to branded entry lighting and model-specific floor mats, though consistent with ABT’s typical approach of restrained cabin modifications.

Pricing for the complete ABT package, including the Power R upgrade, aerodynamic components, wheels, suspension, exhaust system, and interior details, is listed at €21,000 including VAT, with additional installation costs. A slightly reduced package is available for air suspension-equipped models, while the lower-output Power S upgrade remains an alternative for buyers not seeking the full 470 horsepower specification.

With the addition of the Sportback and the new Power R calibration, ABT further positions the SQ5 as a bridge between everyday usability and higher-tier Audi Sport performance—particularly relevant as the segment continues to skew toward more design-driven SUV variants.
