A.I.Imagined: RS e-tron GT Avant

As I work to grow this Audi-focused platform, one of the assets I plan to integrate is my @4Rings.AI Instagram account. I’ll dig more into the history and thought process of @4Rings.AI at a later date, but wanted to begin to create an ongoing series of content meant to entertain and stimulate the imagination.

The plan here is to create vehicles that never really existed. Posted recently to the account (that you can follow HERE) were a mix of images of an RS e-tron GT.

Of course, the RS e-tron GT Avant doesn’t exist. Yes, Porsche does do a Crossturismo and Sportturismo long roof versions of their own Taycan that is a platform mate to the RS e-tron GT, but Audi hasn’t elected to produce in kind for the RS e-tron GT.

Interestingly, a long time ago before the production e-tron GT had even been revealed, a contact at Audi had mentioned to me that an Avant was planned. Perhaps the car’s lackluster sales due to the on-again-off-again nature of EV consumer tastes played a role.

Looking at these images, it’s fair to state that it’s a real shame the car never happened. The sedan versions weren’t produced as Sportback, meaning a narrow trunk that was likely pushed by Porsche for structural rigidity reasons that would be more beneficial when setting Nürburgring track records. Alas, that doesn’t make it as practical in real life, which is why enthusiasts tend to gravitate to the long roof versions of the Taycan.

This isn’t the first set of RS e-tron GT Avants that have been posted on @4Rings.AI. With over 1,300 original AI images posted to date on that account, there’s a huge back catalogue. I aim to look back on that more on a weekly basis.

Got an idea on what you’d like to see created on that account? Post it here in the comments or drop either Instagram account a DM.
