We’re close now to the launch of the next-generation internal combustion replacement for the Audi A6 and A7 range. In fact, Audi has confirmed the premiere of the car will take place on March 4 at 2PM (presumably in the time zone of their German HQ, making it 8AM EST).
Also happening at coincidentally the same time, spy photographers like @Wilcoblok on Instagram have just spied the allroad variant of this new car. So, even though we don’t expect the allroad or other variants to also drop on the 4th, we know they’re just around the corner when what looks like fully-production iterations are out testing in the wild.

Up until recently, Audi’s internal combustion entries to the so-termed C-segment were expected to shift to using the “A7” name. In a more recent turn of events, Audi has chosen to simplify its nomenclature to refer to this car as “A6” as well as the previously revealed A6 e-tron.
Notably, this internal combustion A6 (unofficially referred to as “C9” for ninth-generation C-chassis) rides on the most modern evolution of Audi’s scalable MLB architecture now known as “PPC” for “Premium Platform Consumption”, while the A6 e-tron is based on the same scalable EV architecture used for the Q6 e-tron and new electric Porsche Macan. That platform is known as “PPE” for “Premium Platform Electric”. And, while some components may be shared between the two, these are totally different architecture matrices.
Given we seem to be in the post auto show era where manufacturers perform such reveals at lifestyle events or in their own produced events, it’s notable that Audi has invited both the media and the public at large to attend the reveal virtually. You can follow the presentation on March 4 at 2 p.m. here: www.youtube.com/@Audi
