🇺🇸 SRO GT AMERICA (GT3) EVENT 1 & 2, SONOMA RACEWAY

🥇🥇

SKi Autosport opened its 2026 GT America campaign with a breakthrough performance at Sonoma Raceway, where Memo Gidley delivered a clean sweep of the weekend. Driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, Gidley secured pole position and converted it into back-to-back victories, controlling Race 1 from the front before fending off pressure in Race 2 to complete the double. The result marked the first weekend sweep in team history.

The Sonoma success carried added weight for Gidley, a California native, who achieved the milestone in front of family and friends. Team owner Kent Hussey described the performance as an ideal start to the season, highlighting the team’s execution across qualifying and both races. With new championship contenders entering the series for 2026, the result positions SKi Autosport as an early benchmark.

The sweep represents a continued upward trajectory for SKi Autosport since its 2022 debut. After securing its first win that year and building momentum through subsequent seasons, the team claimed the GT America title in 2024 and now reaches nine total series victories. Sonoma stands as its most complete weekend to date, setting the tone ahead of the next round at Circuit of the Americas later this month.

🇮🇹 24H SERIES (GT3) 12H OF MUGELLO

🥇

Saintéloc Junior Team secured overall victory at the 2026 Michelin 12H Mugello, opening the European leg of the 24H Series season with a hard-fought win in Tuscany. The French squad’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, driven by Pierre Kaffer, Elia Erhart, Ernst Inderbitzin, and Stéphane Tribaudini, emerged on top after a demanding two-part, 12-hour contest that saw strategy and consistency prove decisive.

The race developed into a tightly contested GT3 battle, with Saintéloc running among the frontrunners throughout before taking control in the closing stages. A tense final hour saw the team fend off pressure from rivals including Herberth Motorsport, with fuel strategy and clean execution ultimately proving the difference. High attrition and changing conditions across the field further emphasized the importance of reliability and precision over outright pace.

The result marks a significant early-season statement for Saintéloc Junior Team, delivering victory in the first European round of the championship and positioning the Audi customer squad as a key contender for the 2026 title.

🇦🇺 GT WORLD CHALLENGE AUSTRALIA (GT3) EVENT 1 & 2, GT FESTIVAL PHILIP ISLAND

🥇

Kelso Electrical Team MPC opened its 2026 GT World Challenge Australia campaign with victory in Race 1 at Phillip Island, as Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher delivered a composed, flag-to-flag performance in the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II. Starting from pole position, the defending Pro-Am champions controlled the race from the outset, with Schumacher leading the opening stint before handing over to Feeney to close it out.

The race itself was anything but straightforward. An incident-filled opening lap brought out an early safety car, and intermittent drama continued throughout the field, but the #1 Audi remained largely untroubled at the front. Feeney managed the final stint under increasing pressure from Oscar Targett’s Mercedes-AMG GT3, ultimately holding on to take the win by less than a second after a tense closing sequence.

Behind the leaders, the podium battle unfolded amid contact and penalties elsewhere, with Audi teams continuing to feature prominently in the top order. The result marked a strong start to the season for Kelso Electrical MPC, reinforcing its status as an early title contender while successfully launching its Pro-Am title defense with maximum points from the opening race.

🇩🇪 NÜRBURGRING LANGSTRECKEN-SERIE (GT3) EVENT 2, NÜRBURGRING

🥇🥇

Max Kruse Racing and Sharky Racing both secured class victories during the second round of the 2026 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season, held on March 21 as part of the 58th ADAC Barbarossa Prize (NLS2). The four-hour race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife delivered a typically dense, multi-class field, where success was defined by consistency and execution across traffic-heavy stints rather than outright pace alone.

Within the classes, Max Kruse Racing continued its strong presence in the series with a category win in NLS2, while Sharky Racing also claimed top honors in its respective class, underscoring the depth of competition beyond the overall GT3 battle. Their results came amid a dramatic race that ultimately saw the overall victory decided post-race due to penalties, but the class performances stood on merit, marking both teams as early-season standouts in the 2026 NLS campaign.

🇮🇹 TCR EUROPE (TCR) EVENT 1, MUGELLO

🥇

Nicolas Taylor claimed his first TCR Europe victory at Mugello, delivering a breakthrough result in his 16th start in the series with PMA Motorsport. Driving the Audi RS 3 LMS, the two-time TCR Italy champion converted prior experience at the circuit into a composed, start-to-finish win, marking just his second podium since stepping up to the European championship at the end of 2024.

Taylor controlled the race from the front but faced increasing pressure as the stint unfolded, particularly as tire degradation began to impact performance. With rivals closing in—most notably Alex Ley on fresher Kumho rubber—Taylor managed the gap through adjusted driving and strategic pacing, aided by late-race safety car periods that compressed the field but limited opportunities for challengers to mount a decisive attack.

The victory comes six months after Taylor’s most recent Mugello win in TCR Italy and reinforces his progression within the European series following a development-focused 2025 campaign. With momentum now on his side, the Canadian driver heads into the next round at Spa-Francorchamps with renewed confidence in what remains a highly competitive championship.

INTERNATIONAL GT OPEN (GT3) PRE-SEASON NEWS

Saintéloc Racing will return to the International GT Open for the 2026 season, marking its third consecutive campaign in the championship and continuing its commitment to Audi’s R8 LMS GT3 EVO II platform. The French team, led by Sébastien Chetail, will once again compete in the Pro-Am class, aiming to build on the experience gained over the past seasons in what has become an increasingly competitive GT3 field.

The team will field the driver pairing of Michaël Blanchemain and Jim Pla, who reunite after previously racing together in 2024 before linking up with Saintéloc at the Monza season finale. That debut with the Audi proved immediately promising, with the duo securing a podium finish, while Blanchemain also added further Pro-Am podiums across the season with other teammates.

With both drivers now familiar with the car, team, and championship, Saintéloc enters 2026 targeting consistent front-running results in Pro-Am. The team has indicated it may expand to a second entry later in the season, underscoring its intent to strengthen its presence in the series as it looks to contend more regularly at the front.

Eastalent Racing has confirmed it will continue its Audi program into the 2026 season, reaffirming its use of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II and maintaining close ties with Audi Sport customer racing support. The Austrian team will benefit from factory-level backing at events, including on-site technical assistance and parts support, underscoring a strengthened relationship as it moves into a more ambitious phase of competition.

Central to that effort is the continuation of its established driver pairing, with Christopher Haase and Simon Reicher set to lead the Sprint campaign. The duo has been a cornerstone of the team’s recent success, including championship-winning form in the International GT Open, and remains intact as Eastalent targets higher-level competition and more consistent front-running results.

The expanded Audi-backed effort also signals a broader step forward, with Eastalent Racing entering GT World Challenge Europe’s top Pro class full-time, effectively marking Audi’s return to the category after a brief absence. With experienced drivers, proven GT3 machinery, and increased factory support, the team positions itself as a serious contender as it transitions into one of the most competitive GT3 championships in the world.

JAPAN CUP (GT3) PRE-SEASON NEWS

AWD Racing will step up to GT3 competition for the 2026 Japan Cup, confirming a full-season entry in the Pro-Am class with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II. AWD Racing’s Audi program will be supported by Hitotsuyama Racing, the reigning Japan Cup champion, which will handle maintenance and technical operations. With a new manufacturer added to the grid and an experienced support structure in place, the team enters the season aiming to establish itself quickly in the Pro-Am ranks.

GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES (GT4) PRE-SEASON NEWS

Willi Motorsport will return to the GT4 European Series for the 2026 season with an expanded two-car effort, fielding a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT4 entries. The move marks a step forward for the team after a single-car campaign in 2025, as it looks to strengthen its presence in one of Europe’s most competitive GT4 championships.

With the Audi R8 LMS GT4 platform at the core of its effort, Willi Motorsport aims to build on its prior experience and compete more consistently across the Silver and Pro-Am categories. The expanded program positions the team to play a more prominent role in the 2026 season as it targets improved results across the six-round European campaign.
