If you’re seeking an Audi RS 4 (B7) with provenance, or perhaps are a big fan of Jeremy Clarkson or his show The Grand Tour, you’ll want to take note of one particular “star car” going up for auction at the Brooklands Velocity Auction at Mercedes-Benz World in the UK. There, amongst a rich mix of other cars, you’ll find the Audi RS 4 that starred in the show’s Season 5 opener “A Scandi Flick” set to sell with an estimate of £28,000–£35,000.
In general, the B7 RS 4 needs little introduction. Built from 2005–2008 and offered as a sedan and Cabriolet in North America and an Avant in Europe, this car remains one of the brand’s all-time greats: a 4.2-liter high-revving naturally aspirated FSI V8, 414 bhp, a 0–60 mph sprint under five seconds, and a soundtrack that comes from another era entirely. As with all RS models of its generation, it pairs that engine with Torsen-based quattro, serving up the sort of all-weather, all-rev-range performance that made Audi’s RS badge a household name.

This particular car was chosen and used by Jeremy Clarkson for some Arctic circle misadventures of “A Scandi Flick,” where he embraced full Audi rally cosplay. On location in Sweden, the production team outfitted the car with rally-era stripes, B5 touring car era descending rings, nine auxiliary spotlights and just enough attitude to hold its own against Richard Hammond’s chosen Mitsubishi Evo and James May’s chosen Subaru WRX STI. According to Clarkson, the 4.2 V8 is “one of the three best engines ever made”.
After filming, the RS 4 was returned to the UK where all production wear was corrected and the car was mechanically recommissioned. It retains its distinctive rally-style livery and benefits from a fresh service, a recent MoT, and a comprehensive suspension overhaul featuring a Bilstein B14 coilover setup. The engine remains unmodified, just as it was on camera, though fans will recognise the flamethrowing exhaust trick that became one of the episode’s standout moments. The private plate — RS57 FOR — is included in the sale.

Showing 74,000 miles and recently spot-lit on Vicki Butler-Henderson’s “The CAR Girl” YouTube channel, the RS 4 continues to attract media attention. No doubt one in-the-know collector will grab this car.
Given this site is published in the U.S., I want to draw attention for North Americans interested in the car. This RS 4 is a UK-specification right-hand drive model. Beyond that, it’s a 2007. That makes it old enough to import into Canada, though it’ll be a little over five years before it can be considered for relatively easy import into the USA.

Set at the historic Brooklands circuit, the venue blends heritage, architecture and atmosphere that suit a car with both motorsport inspiration and modern media provenance. For RS fans — and Grand Tour devotees — this may be one of the most memorable Audi lots to cross the block this year. So, yes, I know it’s UK-spec and that won’t make it easy, but it’s special and memorable (perhaps infamous) enough that it’s worth listing here as a Find of the Week.
