The clock is ticking for fans of Ken Block and Audi. The Petersen Automotive Museum’s celebrated exhibit, “People’s Champ: The Impact of Ken Block,” will close its doors on October 5, marking the last chance to experience one of the most complete celebrations of Block’s life, creativity, and influence on car culture.
For Audi enthusiasts, the centerpiece is unmistakable: the Audi S1 Hoonitron. Built as a one-off prototype for Block by Audi, the all-electric weapon starred in his Electrikhana video and signaled the brand’s future in electrified performance. Also nearby sits Block’s white Audi Sport quattro “Turbo Monster,” a modern re-creation of his dream car. Rather than risk one of the 224 original Sport quattros, Block enlisted LCE Performance in Germany to fuse an Audi quattro Coupe rear with a quattro 4000 front—exactly the way the legends in Ingolstadt once did. The result is a faithful, brutal homage that embodies the spirit of Group B while carrying Block’s unmistakable flair.
The exhibit, staged in partnership with the 43 Institute, has been one of the Petersen’s most popular. Beyond the Audis, it gathers icons like the Hoonicorn, Hoonipig, and even the Subaru Impreza WRX STI that launched Block’s Gymkhana legacy.
EXCLUSIVE SWEEPTAKES FROM LUCY BLOCK
Fans can go even further in supporting Block’s mission: Lucy Block is currently running a sweepstakes benefiting the 43 Institute, offering prizes that include a private tour of the Petersen display, a $2,000 travel stipend, a signed Larry Chen photo book, and a limited-edition Leen Customs x 43 Institute pin.
With just days remaining, the message is clear: if you want to see the Audi S1 Hoonitron in the flesh—or stand in front of Block’s ultimate Sport quattro tribute—this is your last chance. The “People’s Champ” exhibit closes October 5, and with it goes one of the most powerful celebrations of Block’s legacy yet.
