Prior to its competition debut, the car demonstrated its performance potential when&nbsp;Hans Stuck set multiple speed records at AVUS, achieving speeds exceeding&nbsp;265 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the&nbsp;1934 Grand Prix season, the Type A emerged as a serious challenger. Hans Stuck secured&nbsp;Auto Union\u2019s first major Grand Prix victory&nbsp;at the&nbsp;German Grand Prix at the N\u00fcrburgring, followed by a win at the&nbsp;Swiss Grand Prix at Bremgarten, where Auto Union finished first and second.
