WagonFest is headed to Atlanta this fall, bringing its celebration of longroof culture to Mercedes-Benz USA headquarters in Sandy Springs on Sunday, October 11. For Audi enthusiasts, there’s an added local connection: Audi Club Georgia is among the organizations supporting the event.
Scheduled for 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, WagonFest Atlanta is open to wagons of all makes and eras, with organizers expecting everything from modern high-performance models and European estates to classic “bricks,” rare JDM wagons and modified longroofs.
That should naturally make Audi Avants a significant part of the mix.
Audi Club Georgia joins the Mercedes-Benz Club of America Peachtree Section, The MB Market, MotoEscape Atlanta, Peachtree Chapter BMW CCA and Saab Club Atlanta in supporting the gathering. It’s an appropriately broad coalition for an event built around a body style that has maintained particularly dedicated followings within German and European enthusiast communities.
WagonFest is also specifically encouraging unusual builds, accessorized cars and wagons equipped with cargo boxes.
WAGON ENTRY $25, SPECTATORS FREE
Entry costs $25 per wagon and includes a vehicle spot in the show along with a commemorative WagonFest Atlanta poster and sticker. Members of Avants can receive complimentary vehicle admission through a promotional code available from the organizers.
Spectator admission is free and no ticket is required.
The event takes place at Mercedes-Benz USA’s corporate headquarters at 1 Mercedes-Benz Drive in Sandy Springs, just north of Atlanta.
Its timing also makes for a particularly strong automotive weekend in Georgia. Luftgekühlt 12 takes place the previous day, Saturday, October 10, at Town at Trilith in Fayetteville. Anyone traveling to Atlanta for the Porsche gathering could conceivably spend Saturday immersed in air-cooled Porsche culture before switching to Avants, estates and other longroofs on Sunday.
